OysterBreak technology consists of a modular precast concrete armor unit made of a special oyster growing substrate. The modular system can be arranged in any way deemed necessary to meet the customer's need. Shortly after deployment, the OysterBreak is colonized by microscopic oyster larvae, starting the development of a living reef. Successive generations of oysters fuse the modular units into a solid reef, enhance wave attenuation and grow faster than sea level rise."
